Bay Bootscooters Line dancing at Wests Nelsons Bay introduction

HISTORY
Line Dancing started in the bay in 1996. We danced at different venues in the area with no guarantee of a dance floor from week to week. We then began dancing at Nelson Bay RSL and we successfully applied to become an Intra Club the year 2000 which enabled the group to have a permanent venue and home base.

Line Dancing is a great sport bringing people together, exercising, meeting new friends and attending many social events Our Line Dance Club is a non-profit club run by a committee of volunteers.

These days Bay Bootscooters teaches dances to different types of music. While we still dance to country music, line dancing now includes songs from the top 20 and even waltzes.

We are a small, friendly group who have wonderful facilities in which to hold our dance classes and socials thanks to the ongoing support of Management and Staff of Wests Nelson Bay.

Karen Thompson

Karen is our new, enthusiastic line dance teacher for our beginners and improvers. Her classes are friendly and dances are taught at a pace that is easy to follow. Come along to a class, meet new friends and enjoy the the fun in beautiful Port Stephens.

Wendy Hughes

Wendy has been dancing for 30 years and teaching for 28 years. She has won numerous competitions in Australia and is an Australian Champion. She became a World Champion in 2019 at Blackpool, England.

Tuesday classes cancelled for the moment. Wednesday revision session will be fortnightly

The next Wednesday revision session will be 15th November and the 29th November. Monday afternoon Classes will finish on the 11th November and commence on the 8th January 2024.

MONDAY EVENING

TEACHER Wendy Hughes MONDAY - 5:30pm -7:30pm - Improver to Intermediate

Revision sessions will be every second Wednesday from 28th February 2024

Revision session from 12:30pm to approximately 1:30pm beginners, 1:30pm to 2:30pm High Beginners, Improver, 2:30 to 3:30 Improver, Intermediate. This will not be a teaching session but will be a time to dance together and go over the dances learnt in Monday morning and evening class . The cost will be $2 for students who have attended previous Monday afternoon or evening class. See dances taught for the dances that will be revised.

Class finish on 11th December 2023 and commence on the 22nd January 2024
